ILOSTAT's numbers are harmonized so that unemployment, wage, or informal-employment figures mean roughly the same thing from one country to the next, something national labor ministries don't always manage for each other. That makes it a better fit than most single-country statistics offices for a notebook comparing labor conditions across borders. The harmonization smooths over some national definitional quirks, so a notebook needing exact domestic classifications may still need to cross-check the country's own agency.
