MLA International Bibliography
mla.org
The standard index for finding scholarship on literature, language, and folklore. Use it via a library to locate papers, then import the full texts you find.
This is the index literature and language scholars build citation lists from, covering journal articles, book chapters, and dissertations back decades. A notebook tracing critical response to a novel or scholarship on a folklore tradition benefits from starting here instead of a general search engine, since MLA indexes venues that don't surface well elsewhere. It requires a library subscription, and most entries point to abstracts rather than full text.
Import into Gemini Notebook
- 1Copy the link above (or a specific page from the site).
- 2In your notebook, click Add source → Website.
- 3Paste the link and confirm — several links can be pasted at once, one per line.
Archives return scans and item pages rather than clean text — look for a transcript, PDF, or article summary before importing the artifact page itself.
