DOAB indexes peer-reviewed academic books that publishers have made open access, most downloadable as full PDFs, one of the few legal ways to get an entire scholarly monograph into a notebook rather than just journal articles. Coverage depends on which publishers have opted in, so it's uneven across fields — strong in some, thin in others.
