This aggregates open-access scholarly books from a range of academic publishers into a single searchable collection, saving you from checking each publisher's own open-access program separately. A notebook built around a specific academic book can grab the full PDF here if the publisher has made it open, rather than paying for one that isn't available otherwise. Not every open-access book from every publisher is indexed here, so a miss doesn't rule out the book being open elsewhere.

For public-domain books, download the Plain Text file and upload it — the 500,000-words-per-source limit fits most novels whole. ePub uploads are supported too.
