Because papers land here before formal peer review, it's where new machine learning, physics and math results show up months or years ahead of journal publication. Nothing on arXiv has been vetted the way a journal article has, so treat early submissions as provisional rather than settled. Pasting the abstract page URL keeps figures and equations intact in a way that copying a scraped PDF often doesn't.
