Academic papersfree

Free index of hundreds of millions of scholarly works with citation links. Good for mapping a literature before deciding which papers to import.

OpenAlex indexes several hundred million scholarly works with citation and concept links, free to use, which makes it a good way to map who's citing whom on a topic before deciding what's worth importing into a notebook. It took over much of the citation-mapping role Microsoft Academic Graph played before that project shut down, and has become a common default for that kind of work. Metadata coverage is broad but not always as clean as narrower, curated databases like PubMed for biomedical topics specifically.

Import into Gemini Notebook

  1. 1Copy the link above (or a specific page from the site).
  2. 2In your notebook, click Add source → Website.
  3. 3Paste the link and confirm — several links can be pasted at once, one per line.

Gemini Notebook reads the text of the page you give it. Paste pages that carry the full text (an arXiv abs page, a PubMed Central article) — a paywalled landing page imports as just an abstract.
