Built by the UK's Jisc and the Open University, CORE aggregates open-access papers from repositories around the world, a good first stop when a paper you want is paywalled elsewhere. Coverage depends entirely on what repositories have deposited, so a free copy isn't guaranteed even for papers that do have one somewhere.
