NCBI's open archive of DNA and RNA sequences. Record pages include annotations and publication links useful for genetics notebooks.
GenBank is the open archive that most genetics research submits sequence data to and cites, so grounding a notebook question here connects to primary sequence data rather than a secondary description of it, and record pages often link straight to the paper that generated the sequence. Reading the records comfortably takes some molecular biology background.
