The search engine astronomers actually use — millions of astronomy and physics papers. Most records link to arXiv or publisher full text you can import.

Working astronomers use ADS instead of a general search engine because it indexes astronomy and physics literature back to the 19th century and links papers to their citations and data in ways broader tools don't. A notebook tracking how a finding got cited and challenged over time benefits from ADS's citation network view. Most records route to arXiv or a publisher, so full-text access still depends on where the paper originally landed.
