Open brain-imaging datasets — MRI, EEG, MEG and more — in standardized BIDS format. Import the dataset descriptions and papers; raw scans stay external.

OpenNeuro hosts brain-imaging datasets in the BIDS format, which standardizes how neuroimaging data and metadata get organized, so a notebook citing a specific study can point to the actual dataset those results came from. The raw scan files are large, specialized formats that don't belong in a notebook directly, so import the dataset description and any accompanying paper instead. Not every dataset here has a published paper attached, so check what documentation exists before assuming a full study backs it.

  1. 1Copy the link above (or a specific page from the site).
  2. 2In your notebook, click Add source → Website.
  3. 3Paste the link and confirm — several links can be pasted at once, one per line.

These sources mix journal PDFs, dataset docs and institutional reports — the PDF or article page imports far better than a paywalled landing page.
