FAOSTAT's country-level data on crops, livestock and land use goes back to 1961 and downloads for free, which supports long-run agriculture or food security questions that need historical depth rather than a single year's snapshot. As the UN's own agricultural data body it's the standard reference here. Reporting quality behind the numbers still depends on each country's own statistical systems, so cross-country comparisons deserve a little skepticism.
