Earthdata is the entry point to NASA's satellite record, covering categories like land cover, sea ice, and atmospheric composition, with dataset pages that document sensor specs and processing levels. A remote-sensing notebook needs that detail to explain what a dataset measures and under what conditions. The underlying data is often too large or specialized to import directly, so the landing pages and user guides do more work in a notebook than the raw files would.
