Gridded global climate layers, historical and future scenarios, for ecology and GIS modeling. Import the methods pages to document your variables.

WorldClim's gridded climate layers are built for ecology and species-distribution modeling, fitting a notebook researching how climate variables at a specific location compare or are projected to change. The methods pages explain how each variable was derived, which matters if the notebook needs to justify why a particular climate layer was chosen. The actual grids are raster files for GIS software, not something a notebook can read directly, so the methods documentation is what carries the source.

Raw climate and geodata rarely imports directly — bring in the documentation, technical reports and summary pages instead of the datasets themselves.
