Unlike real-time earthquake feeds, the ISC Bulletin is a reviewed and relocated catalogue, meaning event locations and magnitudes get revised as better data comes in, which makes it the more reliable source for a notebook doing long-run seismicity analysis rather than same-day reporting. Its record reaching back to 1900 is unusually long for this kind of vetted data. Because of the review process, the most recent events lag behind real-time services like USGS, so it isn't the source to reach for on something that happened yesterday.
