Open seismic waveform archives and station metadata for global earthquake research. Tutorials and data product pages work well as web sources.
IRIS runs the data infrastructure much of academic seismology depends on for waveform archives and station metadata, so its documentation carries real technical authority for a notebook on how earthquakes get detected and located. The raw waveform data isn't something a notebook can read as text, so the value here is in the tutorial and data-product description pages rather than the underlying files. That makes it a support source explaining method, not a stand-in for an actual earthquake catalogue.
